The service

Spotted (spottedby.me) publishes interactive maps of places mentioned in publicly available YouTube travel videos. The service is provided as-is, free of charge for visitors.

Content and accuracy

Places, quotes and locations are extracted automatically from public video subtitles and reviewed by a human, but mistakes happen — a pin may be misplaced, a quote imprecise, or a business may have closed. Always double-check before you travel. Spotted is not responsible for decisions made based on map content. Spot something wrong? Use the “Report a wrong pin” link on any place.

Relationship to creators

Maps marked as “unofficial preview” are built from public content to demonstrate the service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the creator. Creators can claim, edit, or remove their map at any time by emailing [email protected] — removal requests are honored promptly.

Relationship to YouTube and Google

Spotted is not affiliated with YouTube or Google. Videos are watched on YouTube via links and embeds; place links open in Google Maps. Their respective terms apply there.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape, overload, or misuse the service, and don't use it to misrepresent a creator.
